Owen Kratz

1997 to October 1, 2006. He served as the President of Helix from 1993 to February 1999 and Chief Operating Officer from 1990 to 1997. He joined Cal Dive International, Inc. (now known as Helix) in 1984 and has held various offshore positions, including saturation diving supervisor and has had management responsibility for client relations, marketing and estimating. From 1982 to 1983, he was the owner of an independent marine construction company operating in the Bay of Campeche. Prior to 1982, he served as a Superintendent for Santa Fe and various International Diving Companies and a saturation diver in the North Sea. He served as the Chairman of Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. from May 1998 till July 2017. From February 2006 to December 2011, Mr. Kratz was a member of the Board of Directors of Cal Dive International, Inc., a publicly traded company, which was formerly a subsidiary of Helix. He has been a Director of Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc., since 1990. He serves as a Director of Well Ops Inc. Mr. Kratz has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
