Ozan holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey (2005); M.S. degree in Operations Research (2006) and Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering (2010) from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA as a Thomas Johnson scholar.
He worked as a research assistant between 2005 and 2010 on a joint project
between Georgia Tech School of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Emory University Department of Radiation Oncology to develop integrated planning algorithms and optimization software for external-beam radiotherapy of cancer patients. His research was published in INFORMS Journal on Computing. Between 2010 and 2012, he worked as an Algorithm Design Engineer at SmartOps, Pittsburgh, PA (acquired by SAP) to develop enterprise-grade software for multi-stage inventory planning and optimization used at Pfizer, Dupont, Estee-Lauder, Kellog’s, Eastman, Johnson&Johnson, and ConAgra Foods to name a few.
After his return to Turkey in 2012, he served as an independent management consultant at a leading mobile telecommunications operator for sales target optimization and at one of the largest consumer durable goods manufacturers for pricing analytics. In 2013, he served as the Manager of Advanced Analytics and Operations Research at P1M1, a software company who built cash logistics software used at ING Bank, TEB and Yapı Kredi. He co-founded Optiyol Decision Analytics in 2014 to continue building innovative decision support systems.
Ozan teaches Risk Management at Özyeğin University, and Revenue Management at Boğaziçi University for Industrial Engineering students as a part-time faculty member.
