Mr. Piper joined the Company from Aspen Aerogels, Inc., a company he co-founded and spent six years as Chief Financial Officer. At Aspen Aerogels he proposed, was awarded and administered over $18 million in SBIR and other Government contracts with the DOD, DOE, NASA, and the NSF, raised over $100 million in equity and debt capital from private
investors, established world-class systems and controls, managed a 15 fold increase in headcount (to over 150 personnel), secured multiple manufacturing facilities with a production capacity in excess of $100 million in revenue and successfully commercialized the aerogel nanotechnology in the oil and gas, industrial, automotive, apparel and military markets.
Before joining Aspen, Mr. Piper spent almost ten years in investment banking, commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, and derivatives marketing and management serving the Oil and Gas, Power, Project Finance, Diversified Manufacturing, and Middle Market companies at JP Morgan Chase and CIBC World Markets.
He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, a former Board member of Triton Systems, Inc and Co-Founder and CFO of Aspen Products Group.
