Paul has been involved in Enterprise storage since the turn of the millennia, originally starting up the storage department of a VAR and experiencing the rise of NetApp against the traditional four, during which point Paul decided to join EMC for the fight back. This gave Paul a great appetite for new technology innovation and he soon discovered
that start-up businesses is where this happens most.
All new storage companies have a reason to exist, they solve a problem caused by a technology that has had a large take up. For Paul iSCSI and VMWare were the tipping points when he was at Lefthand Networks and the proliferation of data when he was at Isilon. Today's most common problem seems to be performance as applications and users want more. That's why he joined Tegile.
