Paul Turina is currently managing Due Fratelli Imports, LLC. an importer of Italian wines and specialty products. Previously, Paul was a founding partner of Safe Handling, Inc. (SHI) in Auburn, Maine. Established in 1989, SHI grew to become the largest bulk material distribution facility in New England. Specializing in the handling and processing
of hazardous materials used by local industries, SHI became a preferred provider to some of the largest chemical manufacturers in North America, including DuPont, Dow, BASF, Rohm & Haas, and PPG. In 2000, SHI was included in INC Magazine’s list of 500 fastest-growing private companies. In addition to serving as Chair of MTI’s Board, Paul is currently on the Executive Committee of Blackstone Accelerates Growth, a $3 million, three-year initiative funded by the Blackstone Foundation that will help Maine entrepreneurs, get the support they need to accelerate the growth of their company. He also serves on the advisory board of two Maine based manufacturing companies and previously served on the board of directors of the Maine Drinking Water Commission. Paul graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1977 with a BS in Environmental Science and moved to Maine in 1985. He currently resides in North Yarmouth with his wife and 2 sons.
