Pete is a Partner at Innosight Ventures, where he manages the IDEAS incubator in Singapore. IDEAS is the world’s first early-stage venture incubator using the principles of Disruptive Innovation to select startups with the greatest disruptive potential and guide them through their early stages of growth.
During the last 5 years, Pete was
instrumental in establishing the IDEAS incubator, working closely with Singapore’s National Research Foundation. He has led IDEAS investments in Versonic, TheMobileGamer, iTwin, YFind Technologies, and Wildfire. Pete currently serves on the boards of iTwin and Wildfire. He is a member of the investment committee for IDEAS.
Before Innosight, Pete served as CEO of Sylantro Systems Corp., a company he founded, from 1998 to 2006. Sylantro was a pioneer in the delivery of enhanced telephony services over broadband networks, with customers including some of the largest telecommunications operating companies in the world. Sylantro was acquired by Broadsoft in 2008. Prior to Sylantro, Pete was Vice President of Product Operations at Latitude Communications (acquired by Cisco). Before Latitude, Pete was Vice President of Engineering at VMX Incorporated (acquired by Lucent), a worldwide leader in voice messaging products. Early in his career, Pete worked at ROLM Corporation in engineering and management roles.
Pete received his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1981and received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979. Pete also attended the AEA Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1991.
