Peter has been Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Cartiva since its spinout from Carticept Medical, Inc. in 2011, where he served as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer since joining Carticept in 2005. Peter has 25 years of finance, accounting, treasury, capital raising and business development experience,
including over 20 in the healthcare services, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
From 2002 until joining Carticept, Peter was the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Proxima Therapeutics, Inc., a medical device company that developed and marketed innovative local radiation delivery systems for the treatment of solid cancerous tumors. Proxima was acquired by Cytyc Corporation in March 2005 for approximately $187 million.
Prior to joining Proxima, he served in senior financial positions with Serologicals Corporation, a $150 million publicly traded provider of biological products to life science companies, the last two years as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
He previously served as Vice President of Administration and Controller of ValueMark Healthcare Systems, Inc., a privately held owner-operator of psychiatric hospitals, and in various senior financial positions at Hallmark Healthcare Corporation, a publicly traded hospital management company.
Peter currently serves on the board of Alimera Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALIM) an ophthalmic pharmaceutical company, where he chairs the audit committee.
Peter earned a Bachelor of Science with Special Attainments in Commerce from Washington and Lee University.
