Phil Gattone is an entrepreneur with a degree in electrical and computer engineering. He was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was four years old. At his worst he was having over 200 seizures a day. He developed trouble speaking and couldn’t understand what people were saying to him. No medications we were working so there was no choice except for
him to have brain surgery.
After the surgery was over the seizures stopped. However, they eventually came back. So, a year later he was sent to the hospital again for another brain surgery. This time the seizures stopped but he had to relearn everything he lost due to the seizures and surgery.
Eventually, with the help of his family, teachers, and aids, he was able to overcome all the obstacles. He went on to college where he majored in electrical and computer engineering.
Growing up with epilepsy Phil realized he was lucky. Not many people have the support team he had growing up. So, he created Neurish.
