Raman Kannan is the Chief Technology Officer at Finitive where he manages all software development and technology. Additionally, Mr. Kannan is a part-time professor teaching (i) Big Data Technologies at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering; and (ii) Machine Learning at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. Prior to Finitive, Mr.
Kannan was a technology strategy consultant, focusing exclusively on data-driven solutions by integrating cloud computing, NLP, sentiment analysis, and advanced machine learning capabilities into traditional enterprise applications. Previously, Mr. Kannan also served as the CTO at Rosenblatt Securities and the Director of Technology at Five Mile Capital. Mr. Kannan started his work in semantic web while working on a DARPA project from 1988-1992. His work on distributed computing was recognized by TCOS IEEE and the Distributed AI Shell and was published in IEEE Expert 1992. Mr. Kannan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an M.S. Computer Science from West Virginia University, a Ph.D. in Physics from West Virginia University and an M.S. in Physics from University of Roorkee, India.
