Mr. Theleen is Chairman and CEO of ChinaVest, the oldest American merchant banking firm in Greater China. Founded in 1981, ChinaVest has acted as M&A advisor to numerous Fortune 500 clients, raised over US$400 million from leading American and European institutions and invested in industries including light manufacturing, logistics, branded
services, telecommunications and information technology. Mr. Theleen is currently a trustee of the Asia Foundation and serves on the Board of Beijing Enterprises, one of China’s leading Red Chip companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Mr. Theleen completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University, and has an MBA degree from the American School of International Management (Thunderbird). In 1999 he was awarded an honorary doctorate of philosophy from Loras College in Iowa for his work in China.
