Dr. Abbate is the founder of OneTouchEMR and the designer and chief developer of the product. Prior to studying medicine he was a software engineer who launched and sold a web hosting company. On becoming a physician he realized that existing EMR systems were written by software developers and were not at all intuitive for doctors.
Hence, being
an entrepreneur at heart, he recognized the opportunity to develop an electronic health records system for iPad that "Flows like a physician thinks." He is Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors.
