Robert Arkin is the founder of Sensiotec and has served as its Chief Executive Officer since Sensiotec’s inception in 2008. In May 2012, Mr. Arkin was awarded the Health Care Heroes Award for Health Care Innovation by The Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Mr. Arkin has formed, led and operated several early stage companies including Modavox, Inc., an
Internet content provider; Synermedics, an application service provider that developed workflow process automation technology for the hospital industry; and Berman Managed Care, Inc., which operated a licensed health plan, management services organization and hospital coding, utilization review and quality assurance businesses. In 1997, Mr. Arkin managed Berman’s successful initial public offering on the NASDAQ National Market.
Mr. Arkin is an experienced business lawyer. His areas of law practice included corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, intellectual property and international business transactions. Mr. Arkin began his professional career as the Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Minnesota and his private practice at Leonard, Street and Deinard, one of Minnesota’s largest law firms, where he was elected a partner.
He is a former Chairman of the International Contracts Committee of the Computer Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He has been quoted as an authority on software law in The Wall Street Journal. In 1985, Governor Rudy Perpich appointed him Vice Chairman of the Minnesota Software Technology Commission, an advisory panel that worked with the Minnesota Energy and Economic Development Agency to stimulate business growth in the technology sector. He is a graduate of Leadership Minneapolis.
Mr. Arkin earned a B.A. (cum laude) and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law where he served as Executive Editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law. He has authored several articles on technology law and healthcare law issues.
