involving a wide array of business lines including cybersecurity, physical security, pharmaceuticals, seismology, oil services, telecommunications, internet service provision, customer relationship management (CRM), state and local government, banking, human resources, and bioinformatics.
He has built large clusters, implemented corporate infrastructure, built innovative software, performed research, and has led teams of various sizes and compositions. Roderick was first introduced into cybersecurity in college where he and his friends would play pranks on one another. Several years later and just a few weeks after starting a job with a company, he was introduced to the dark side of cybersecurity. Almost all the company’s infrastructure had been breached on a massive scale.
Over the next several weeks he, his team, and any employees and contractors that he could bring together essentially lived at the office as they mitigated the incident. Ever since then, he has taken security very seriously. Roderick holds a BS and MS in solid Earth Geophysics from New Mexico Tech, certification in Grid Engine, and a certificate in Viticulture from Washington State University.
