Prior to joining Mozido, Mr. Hynes spent nearly nine years at MasterCard, most recently as group executive, Global Prepaid Solutions at MasterCard Worldwide. In this role, he was responsible for leading MasterCard’s prepaid business globally and delivering a product strategy to create a competitive advantage for MasterCard and its customers. At
the center of this prepaid work was leading MasterCard’s financial inclusion agenda to bring financial services to 2.5 billion people globally with little or no access today. To that end he led MasterCard’s efforts to build many of the world’s largest government programs aimed at delivering financial products to this consumer group. Before joining MasterCard, Mr. Hynes helped shape the prepaid industry in the United States when he oversaw prepaid product and strategy at JP Morgan Chase/Bank One. Here he acted as an early influencer in the rapidly growing prepaid industry collaborating on changes in payroll card programs, the first ever instant issue reloadable prepaid card to be sold at retail, and the early stages of prepaid cards in healthcare. He also was a founding member of the NBPCA. Early in his career Mr. Hynes built his passion for consumers when he held positions of progressing responsibility in brand strategy and sales in the consumer packaged goods industry with companies such as Cadbury Schweppes and The Coca-Cola Company. Mr. Hynes received his MBA from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
