Ron is respected in the field of infectious disease and Co-Director of the prestigious Center for Vaccine Research at the University of Pittsburgh. Ron is a Professor in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with secondary appointments in the Department of Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases. He
also Director of the Peptide Synthesis Core. His research interest is in viral immunology and vaccine development, especially as related to AIDS, emerging diseases, and biodefense. Ron received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
