Rugger Burke is a Principal, General Counsel, and Investment Committee Member at Satori Capital where he also serves as general counsel. As part of his day-to-day responsibilities, he helps lead the private equity investment team and serves as one of the firm’s representatives on the boards of a number of the firm’s portfolio companies.
Mr. Burke
previously served as the CEO of Minlam Asset Management LLC, the investment manager for the Minlam Microfinance Fund, an emerging market debt fund with an investment strategy focused on providing debt capital to microfinance institutions globally. Between the date of inception and the date of its successful sale to GMG-MicroVest, the Fund provided more than $85 million in debt investments to 53 microfinance institutions in 31 countries with a cumulative loan default rate of less than 1%.
Prior to entering the field of finance, Mr. Burke acted as the managing partner of a Dallas-based law firm which served as corporate counsel to a diverse range of clients from early-stage entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 Companies. In addition to leading the firm in the areas of business organization, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Burke served as a Master in Chancery as well as a receiver, having been appointed by the courts to take possession of and operate various businesses in a number of proceedings.
