Runik Mehrotra is the Co-Founder & CIO of Vise AI. Vise AI is a venture-backed startup using Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize Portfolio Construction and Management for RIAs and Family Offices. Vise AI allows investment advisors the ability to provide tailored financial advice to each of their clients powered by proprietary Portfolio
Intelligence making them smarter and more efficient. Vise AI is backed by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, Bling Capital, Great Oaks Ventures, and the Wharton School of Business amongst other investors.
In his respective position, Runik is responsible for overseeing a team of software engineers and AI and Quantitative Finance Ph.D researchers and defines the company’s product and technical strategy. Prior to Vise AI, Runik co-founded NYX Group, a technology consulting firm specializing in Marketing and Software Development.
Runik is an active AI and Quantitative Finance researcher. He’s published papers on the efficiency of Restricted Boltzmann Machines, implementations of Particle Swarm Optimization for carry-trade optimization, and the reliability analysis of the Exchanged Hypercube. Alongside research, Runik is a fellow at Lightspeed Venture Partners and a senior consultant with GLG and Coleman Research. He has consulted with firms such as UBS, BCG, Mass Mutual, Alliance Bernstein, Deutsche Asset Management and others on implementations of Artificial Intelligence in Finance.
Runik attended the Jerome Fisher Program for Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance and Management at the Wharton School of Business and Computer Science at the Engineering School.
