Russell is the Founder and CEO of United Wind, the distributed wind industry’s first and only developer offering third party financing solutions for distributed-scale wind projects in the U.S. Under Russell’s leadership United Wind has grown from concept to recognized industry leader since the company’s launch in 2013. Over that time Russell has
led fundraising efforts for the company resulting in corporate and project level investments from Statoil Energy Ventures, Total Energy Ventures, TEPCO, U.S. Bank, New York Green Bank and Forum Equity Partners with over $20m in capital deployed into projects and over $10m in corporate capital raised to date. Russell’s role at the company is building a strong culture and dedicated team, driving strategic direction, and leading capital raising efforts.
Prior to United Wind, Russell was Founder and CEO of Wind Analytics, the leading distributed wind predictive and financial modeling company for distributed-scale wind projects globally. Wind Analytics provided data to NYSERDA, Energy Trust, Citibank, Chevron, and most distributed wind industry stakeholders before it was merged into United Wind in 2013.
Russell will complete the Owner/President Management Program (OPM49) at Harvard Business School in 2017, where he was the winner of the annual business pitch competition. Russell is a keynote and featured speaker on the topics of distributed wind energy and entrepreneurship globally.
