Samuel Liss has served as one of our directors since 2005. Mr. Liss is the principal of WhiteGate Partners LLC, a financial services advisory firm. He is also an adjunct professor of finance and business at the New York University Stern School of Business. He served as executive vice president at The Travelers Companies from 2004 to 2010 and
continues there as an advisor.
Before the merger of The St. Paul and Travelers, Samuel Liss served as executive vice president at The St. Paul from February 2003 to April 2004. From 1994 to 2001, he was a managing director at Credit Suisse First Boston, or CSFB, where he initially focused on equity research across a range of financial institution sectors.
He subsequently served in a senior role in CSFB’s Financial Institutions Group, where he led the asset management industry practice. Samuel Liss was a senior equity analyst at Salomon Brothers from 1980 to 1994. He serves on the Board of Directors of DST Systems, Inc.
