Scott McCune serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at TEGNA Inc. since 2008, the Atlanta Sports Council, the Chick-fil-A Bowl (currently Chairman), Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, First Tee Atlanta, the Board of Advisors for Miami University's Farmer School of Business, the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation and the Board of
Advisors of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
Previously, Scott was Vice President of Global Partnerships and Experiential Marketing for The Coca-Cola Company. Scott is responsible for the development of global strategies for the company’s approach to marketing partnerships, sports and entertainment marketing and licensing. Scott oversaw the company’s worldwide sports and entertainment partnerships and the activation of global platforms (the Olympics, FIFA World Cups, etc.); the Company’s licensing business, which generates more than $500 million in retail sales; the World of Coca-Cola, a $100 million entertainment attraction that welcomes more than 1 million visitors annually. In addition, Scott provides leadership and guidance to a diverse network of Coca-Cola marketing communications professionals in local markets around the world.
Scott began his career with Coca-Cola in January 1994 as Director of Strategic Media and in 1995, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Worldwide Media. In 1997, Scott was promoted to Vice President of Worldwide Sports, where he became responsible for overall management of the company’s global sports sponsorship programs. Scott has since added responsibilities for entertainment marketing, licensing, worldwide media and integrated marketing, and created the company’s first global interactive marketing department.
Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Scott spent eight years at Anheuser-Busch, where he held a variety of positions in media, sports, entertainment, ethnic and grass roots marketing.
Previously, Scott was an Account Executive with Sports Time Cable Network and prior to that, Scott taught business and coached basketball and tennis at both the high school and college levels.
Scott received a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Ohio University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
