In addition to position as the Chairman and CSO of the Wistron Corporation, Simon currently serves as the Chairman for Wiwynn Corporation. Prior to Wistron's formation, Simon previously served as President, Acer Inc. The R.O.C. government awarded Simon its Outstanding Manager of the Republic of China award in 1989 in recognition of singular
leadership and management excellence. In 1996 and 2000, Simon was named the Outstanding Alumni of the National Chiao Tung University and the Tainan First High School respectively. In 2008, he was nominated as region’s top CEO and received the Asia Viewer’s Choice Award by CNBC Asia Pacific (the 7th CNBC Asia Business Leaders Awards). In 2011, he was presented with the Visionary Innovation Entrepreneur Award by Ernst & Young for being an outstanding entrepreneur who inspires others with his vision, leadership and achievement. In 2013, he received the National Distinguished Accomplishment Award in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the industry and to the country. In 2020, Industrial Technology Research Institute reconized Simon as ITRI Laureate.
