Simon Waters joined Hasbro in their LA offices in May 2010 as Senior Vice President of Global Licensing & Publishing, where he leads a first class licensing team committed to a strategy of re-inventing Hasbro Franchises as lifestyle brands. Through partnerships with innovative companies, his team has built industry leading programs &
experiences for a diverse range of categories, sectors and consumers worldwide. Simon has a proven track record of strategic leadership, delivering results and fostering creativity in the entertainment space, built through senior level experience in marketing, retail and sales.
Prior to joining Hasbro, Simon served as vice president of global franchise development and strategic marketing at The Walt Disney Company, leading two of Disney’s largest consumer products franchises, Mickey Mouse & Winnie The Pooh, and also establishing and leading a new business unit called Disney Infant, catering to the product needs of new Moms. Simon also held executive positions in the UK music industry at Universal Music Group and Bertelsmann Music Group earlier in his career, as well as roles in retail operations and buying with HMV Music Retail.
As a native of the UK, he arrived in LA with his family in 2004 and has been based on the west coast since. Simon is an avid runner, triathlete, Board Member of the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena and a musician who’s work was featured in a commercial spot for Scion Cars, a writer and contributor to an on-line career magazine, and has also performed on stage as a member of the Los Angeles Theatre Sports Improvisation group.
