Simon Williams is Chairman and CEO of Camelot Financial Capital Management LLC – a US-based investment group focused on adding value in Financial Services businesses by working with a long term focus on operational improvements based on deep industry knowledge and experience. Camelot, which Mr Williams founded in 2007, invests directly in those
businesses and takes an active role in the management of its investments.
Camelot currently has investments in:
• On Deck Capital (www.ondeckcapital.com) – a US focused business that redefines small business lending • Blingnation Inc. (www.Blingnation.com) – providing consumer point of sale payment system and value added service delivery to merchants • Lending Club, Inc (www.lendingclub.com) - a US based platform providing loans to consumers funded through retail investors on Lending Club’s platform. • Just Means Corporation (www.justmeans.com) – a global, high growth CSR business focused on delivery to global Fortune 500 clients.
Between 1997 and 2006, Mr. Williams was a Senior Executive at Citigroup Inc., where he held various roles during his career including CEO of Citibank International Retail Bank, Head of Asia Pacific Consumer Group, Head of Latin America Consumer Group and finally, Chief Risk Officer for Citigroup Global Consumer Group. He was also a member of the Management Committee of Citigroup. Mr. Williams has also held senior management roles at GE Capital, Bain & Co., and Price Waterhouse in London. Mr. Williams is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, the largest professional accountancy body in Europe. He graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Exeter University and holds an MBA from INSEAD in France, where he graduated with Distinction.
He is a Director of On Deck Capital, Lending Club and Justmeans. He was previously on the Board of the Student Loan Corporation (NYSE: STU) and Chairman of Cosmos Bank in Taiwan.
Mr Williams is married with three children, and his interests include playing chess, doing The Times crossword, skiing and competitive cycling.
