Dr. Qi is recognized worldwide as a key pioneer of CRISPR technology, and is the inventor of dCas9 technologies for non-editing genome engineering, including CRISPR interference (CRISPRi). He is an assistant professor of Bioengineering at Stanford University, where his lab is focused on novel genetic engineering technology development. He is a
former fellow at University of California, San Francisco, and author of more than 30 high-impact scientific papers and 10 patents. Dr. Qi holds a B.S. in Physics and Math from Tsinghua University, Beijing, an M.A. in Physics from University of California, Berkeley, and a joint Ph.D. in in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley and UCSF.
