Mr. Ritterbush is a Partner of Fairfax Partners, LLC, a firm that he founded in 1989, and is a Senior Partner of Fairfax Media Partners, LLC.
From late 1989 until mid 1991, Mr. Ritterbush and the staff of Fairfax Partners managed Greater Washington Investors, a publicly traded SBIC where they repositioned a stagnant, under-performing portfolio,
ultimately resulting in a more than ten-fold increase in the company's share price. At Greater Washington, Mr. Ritterbush managed investments in more than 35 technology companies.
From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Ritterbush was a founder, director and senior corporate officer of ICF Kaiser International and served as president of its investment subsidiary, American Venture Investments, Inc. Through the acquisition of Kaiser Engineers of Oakland, CA, and a series of subsequent smaller add-on acquisitions, the partnership transformed an old line engineering construction company into one of the country’s leading environmental remediation firms.
Prior to 1986, Mr. Ritterbush served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Arthur D. Little Far East, Inc. in Singapore where he worked primarily with U.S. technology and venture capital companies seeking to establish operations in Asia. From 1979 to 1983, Mr. Ritterbush worked for Arthur D. Little, Inc. in Cambridge, MA as a management consultant.
Mr. Ritterbush earned undergraduate degrees in liberal arts and engineering from Union College; an M.S. in Geophysics from the University of Hawaii; and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. He was also awarded a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship to the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He presently serves on the Board of Trustees of Union College and is Chairman of the Finance Committee.
