Steve is the evangelist spreading the word of Brivo's mission. As a co-founder of Brivo Systems, Steve served first as CTO and more recently as President and CEO, guiding the company from its initial vision of providing Web-based security services and products to its current position as the largest online access control system in the industry.
Steve has served on the Security Industry Association's Board of Directors since 2008, and has focused on security technology issues as Chairman of SIA Standards Committee since 2011. Prior to his current tenure at Brivo, Steve served as Director of Internet Consulting at Sapient, a software development and interactive firm, where he was responsible for leading strategy and technology engagements for Fortune 500 and dot.com deployments. Earlier in his career, Steve engineered satellite communications systems for both private and federal customers, first at Geostar, an early mobile vehicle tracking solution, and later at Comsat Corporation, the US signatory to the Intelsat Treaty. Steve holds a bachelor's degree from Calvin College and was a Ph.D. candidate in physics at the University of Maryland.
