Dr. Steven A. Soper founded Biofluidica in order to develop new technologies to be used in the medical diagnostic, pathogen detection, and personalized medicine spaces. He is a worldwide recognized pioneer in the development of diagnostic platforms with over 12 years of experiences in the CTC research area along with being the author of five
patents currently licensed by BioFluidica. He has over 310 peer-reviewed publications with an h-index of 56. In addition, he has generated over $60M in competitive research funding over his career with most of this funding focused on developing new technologies for in vitro diagnostics. Dr. Soper is currently a Professor in Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry at UNC-CH. He is also Director of a new Center on the UNC-CH campus; Center for BioModular Multi-scale Systems for Precision Medicine, which is focused on developing new tools for the molecular analysis of circulating biomarkers.
