A world-renowned payments expert, Steven has held C-Suite leadership positions and served as a board advisor for startups and Fortune 500 companies. He is a “deep technology” specialist in systems engineering and design and has held CTO and CIO positions at FIS Prepaid Solutions, WaveCrest Group and WildCard Systems. Steve has designed, architected
and launched multiple payments and loyalty platforms, including the first purpose-built, open-loop prepaid processing system, which is still in use today. He pioneered advanced risk/fraud detection and prevention systems and deployed the first machine-learning algorithms tailored to prepaid processing.
Steven holds two PhDs: one in computer science and one in mathematics. He is an avid flyer and both a fixed-wing and rotary wing (helicopter) pilot.
