Sunny Jain founded Sun Genomics in 2016 and has since launched 3 assays in the field of probiotic testing. Previously to starting Sun Genomics, Sunny Jain worked at Illumina for 7 years and in 2009 was a part of the team to establish the Illumina Clinical Services Laboratory. Sunny Jain subsequently went on to sequence the first whole human genome
in a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory and introduced NGS technology into a clinical setting. Early in his career, Sunny Jain gained assay development experience over immunological and infectious disease molecular assays while working for a start-up in Malibu, CA. In 2007 he focused his career towards clinical patient testing while working for Labcorp in the molecular oncology laboratory located in Irvine, CA. Over the past twelve years, he has been involved in setting up and running clinical molecular testing laboratories as well as developing and validating new assays for use in clinical laboratories. Sunny Jain is a member of American Society for Clinical Pathology and active inspector for the College of American Pathologists overseeing CLIA regulated laboratories. Sunny earned his Master’s in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa. He is a certified lab professional by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the California Dept. of Public Health in Molecular Genetics.
