Ted Coombs, a pioneer Internet developer, author and futurist, is committed to developing platforms for the future of business online. As a futurist he could see that work would be increasingly done online and globally. He is also passionate about the increasing role artificial intelligence plays in our lives.
He began his programming career
writing motion control software for robots switching to business applications in the early 1980s. His company, Pacific Knowledge, was hired by Pacific Bell to write one of the very first applications to run over a dedicated ISDN line. This was the same laboratory where the cartoon character, Dilbert, was born.
He spent over 15 years dedicated to computer forensics and intellectual property research. He authored some of the early For Dummies books and was the founder of the Java Developer Journal. Ted was an early adopter of social media and understands its importance to all online and mobile applications. He was also a Guinness Book of World Records, record holder for roller skating across the US and back in 1979. He and his family live on the Big Island of Hawaii.
