Timothy J. O'Brien is Chairman of the Board and co-founder of the company. He currently serves as
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UAMS and served as the Director of UAMS Arkansas
BioVentures from 1994-2006. Dr. O'Brien received his Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1967 from the University
of Illinois. He has worked in the field of
gynecological oncology for over 30 years at the University of
Southern California and UAMS. Dr. O'Brien has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed papers, 16 patents
and 23 pending patent applications. The current gold standard for monitoring patients with ovarian cancer
CA125 is based on some of Dr. O'Brien's early work on ovarian cancer marker development.
