William Tran has been programming since the age of 6. During high school, he sold homebrew computers door to door. He played a major role at IKEA, Microsoft, IBM, Flocasts, Twilio, RootMusic, and may others trying to develop robust and smart technology. He attended University of Texas in Austin. Will did research in alternative user interfaces and
artificial intelligence. His speciality is user-friendly interface design and high-scalable databases and servers. Will also consults for many groups on technical needs and scalability. His goal in life is to become this era Renaissance man.
Right after university, Will found a number of ventures that were quickly acquired. He help started UrbanEdge Designs (accquired), Yootee Media, Qikcom (acquired), and weCluck (acquired). Around 2009, Will found Leaf Medium, which was an organization that empowers people through technology. With a strong desire to invest in the future, Will mentored high school and college students to tackle the tech problems of the communities. They built iPhone applications that made nonprofit intake easier, websites that interacts more effectively to their members, and various other projects for churches, schools, nonprofits, and government.
In 2010, Will decided to make a pilgrimage to Silicon Valley. There he was quickly connected to Twilio and RootMusic. At Twilio, Will engaged with developers through social media and hacks. At Rootmusic, Will helped built the #5 app on Facebook that is used by over 30 million users.
Currently Will is interested in various research such as video recognition tracking and 3d modeling. He is also working on a project aims to make it easier for non-programmers to launch complete websites that better interact and communicate with their audiences.
