Yi Shi (石一, Japanese: いし はじめ) is a Chinese-German entrepreneur and investor recognized for founding and expanding multiple technology companies. Raised in Germany, he studied computer science at Goethe University Frankfurt before leaving to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
In 2009, Shi founded Avazu Inc., a marketing technology company
specializing in programmatic advertising. The company was acquired in 2015 by Dalian Zeus Entertainment Co., Ltd. for approximately CNY 2.2 billion (around USD 350 million at that time).
He later established DotC United Group, a consumer internet company that achieved unicorn status, focusing on e-commerce, social platforms, and utility applications. Shi also co-founded oBike, a dockless bike-sharing service that operated across Southeast Asia, Europe, and Australia. The company was later acquired after facing regulatory challenges.
Since 2022, Shi has been leading FlashIntel, a Silicon Valley-based company developing artificial intelligence solutions for Go-to-Market (GTM) and Customer Experience (CX) optimization. His ventures have been recognized in media outlets like Forbes and Fortune. Shi currently resides in Singapore, Japan, and the United States.
