Rather than give you a lofty vision and mission statement, I thought it may be more helpful if I shared with you why Digital Harvest exists. By the year 2050, the number of people living like my family will swell from today's 1.5 billion to 4.5 billion.
My family live in a modest 2,700 square foot house in Virginia that was built in 1991.
We consider ourselves blessed and are deeply thankful to live in the United States with the comforts of a middle-class lifestyle.
If everyone in the world lived like my family, if they had similar driving habits, food choices, energy use and raw material consumption, we would need to have a global footprint of over 30 global acres. As people become more and more affluent, we're going to need a lot more food and we're going to have to produce as efficiently as possible, the question is how.
At Digital Harvest, we are working to develop new solutions founded on deep technical insights to meet our goal of helping food growers make data-based decisions with agronomic precision.
