Young founded RODO Medical in Sunnyvale, California in 2009. He assembled a team of many seasoned professionals in the medical device industry and raised a seed round from a group of dentists who became very excited about the concept. (Ultimately, they would also become the device users.) Shortly after delivering the proof of concept, Young led the
company to: raise the series A round from high-net-worth individuals in 2010, complete the first generation product in 2011, and obtain a CE Mark in 2012.
Prior to RODO Medical, Young co-founded Enview Technologies in 2001, which was incubated from his Ph.D. thesis into a patented technology in the automotive industry. Young holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
