David Greene has an extensive 17-year background in brokerage and financial services. David worked for Blunt, Ellis & Loewi, a Midwestern brokerage firm, until the company’s acquisition by Kemper Financial Corp. in 1982, when he transitioned into working for Kemper. After the larger Kemper Corp. experienced a period of financial difficulties,
in the early 90s, David and his partners from within the company bought the outstanding common stock of Kemper Securities in 1995. They renamed the business Everen Capital Corp. when it entered the NYSE.
David served as the Senior Executive VP of Everen Capital Corp. and the Senior Executive VP & Director of Client Services of Everen Securities until Wachovia (formerly First Union) acquired the company in 1999. In four short years, David and his partners managed Everen’s tremendous growth through the acquisition of small brokerage firms, utilizing those assets to help establish them as a real name in the financial industry.
Following the deal, David served as President of Retail Sales for Wachovia until his retirement in 2000.
